Chinese Club Make Offer Of N5.2B To Nantes For Super Eagles Winger Simon
Published: April 24, 2020
French Ligue 1 club Nantes have received an offer worth 12 million
euros (N5.2 billion) from an unnamed Chinese club for the services of
Moses Simon, according to Spanish sports daily AS making reference to Eurosport France.
The
Nigeria international is having a breakout season at Nantes, whom he
joined on a season-long loan deal from Levante last August.
Nantes
will be obligated to buy Simon outright if he scores one more goal for
the club before the end of this season as there are two conditions that
would trigger the purchase clause set at five million euros, scoring 10
goals in all competitions and he has to play a minimum of 25 games.
The
24-year-old has already triggered the games-based clause with 30
appearances and has nine goals to his name with eight assists to go with
it.
It has been suggested that The
Canaries are planning to activate the purchase clause whether or not the
Super Eagles star achieves the 10-goal target, before selling him to
the Chinese club for a tidy profit.
The former Ajax Amsterdam trialist is under contract with Levante until June 30, 2023.
