Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that he was surprised and at the same time happy that he was joining Leicester City in January 2017.
The Nath Boys Academy product was courted by several Premier League teams before Racing Genk accepted a bid in the region of 15 million pounds from the Foxes.
"I was surprised then I was happy I was coming to Leicester City. The Genk manager told me to just be myself when I go there, that's why they bought me," Ndidi said in an Instagram conversation with the Super Eagles Media Team.
"I was nervous at that time but I was happy as it was like a next step in my career."
Prior to his switch to the King Power Stadium outfit, Ndidi used to play as a fullback and central defender for Racing Genk and he has revealed that he was still learning the trade as a defensive midfielder when he arrived at Leicester City.
"It's very important for me to always develop myself. When I first came to Leicester, every manager has his own philosophy, the formation of the game, some things I had no idea of I know now, this is very important for every player.
"Since Brendan Rodgers came, you can see every player has improved so much because he's very direct, you can picture where you'll be as a player, what can happen on the pitch as a player," the Super Eagles number 4 added.

Ndidi has earned 36 caps for the Super Eagles since making his international debut in a friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo in October 2015.
