Celtic Ready To Battle Rangers For Nigeria International Striker
Published: April 27, 2020
Glasgow Celtic are the latest club in the United Kingdom linked with a move for Super Eagles striker Josh Maja.
According to Football Insider, the Scottish Premiership champions have reignited their interest in the London-born Maja, having missed out on his signature before he was acquired by Bordeaux in January 2019.
With the future of Odsonne Edouard up in the air, Celtic have lined up the Nigeria international to replace the Frenchman if he departs The Hoops.
Celtic face serious competition for the services of Maja, who is also on the radar of bitter rivals Rangers.
Though he is not a guaranteed starter at Bordeaux, the 21-year-old has scored 8 goals across all competitions this season.
Maja played for the youth teams of Fulham and Crystal Palace, before moving to Sunderland, where he broke into the first team in the 2017-2018 season.
He has a contract with Bordeaux until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
