Super Eagles Coach Rohr Takes Pay Cut To Help Nigerian Federation During Coronavirus Crisis
Published: May 01, 2020
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has offered to take a three-month pay cut in order to assist the Nigeria Football Federation through the coronavirus crisis.
The German football tactician takes home $US55,000 salary every month and a percentage of that sum is paid to his three assistants Tunde Adelakun, Nabil Trabelsi and also Jean Luc Royer.
"Of course, everybody in the moment has an obligation to understand that there are no matches," Rohr told ESPN.
"Clubs and federations have problems with money, even if they have assistance from FIFA or UEFA, but everybody has to be ready to make sacrifices.
"So I already told NFF that in the months from April to June, we are agreed to cut our salaries, which is also a sign of solidarity."

An unnamed Nigerian Federation official added : "He offered to give up a percentage of his wages during this coronavirus lockdown. So since April, he has only been on a percentage of his salary."
Regarding the contract proposal from the NFF, Rohr has agreed to live in Nigeria and be paid in the local currency but claims he has two more offers on the table if he fails to reach an agreement with the NFF.
