French Champions Paris Saint-Germain Plotting Move For Nigeria's Most Valuable Player
Published: May 01, 2020
Newly-crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain have the intention to strengthen their central midfield in the upcoming transfer window and have Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi on their radar as well as Atletico Madrid's Ghana star Thomas Partey and Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
ESPN says the Parisians are in the market for a physical and aggressive midfielder as they are not fully satisfied with Idrissa Gueye and Leandro Paredes, who were signed from Everton and Zenit St Petersburg respectively in 2019.
At 36 million euros, Ndidi is the most valuable Nigerian player, according to Transfermarkt but the report by the American cable sports channel suggests the Leicester City ace is worth at least 50 million euros.
Sporting Director of PSG, Leonardo is planning to firm up the club's interest in the Super Eagles star in the coming weeks.
However, Ndidi has repeatedly stated that he wants to see out his contract at The Foxes amid speculation linking him with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona.
Despite struggling with a knee injury, the Nath Boys product has racked up 2,224 minutes so far in the 2019-2020 season split between 29 games across all competitions.
The former Racing Genk starlet is under contract with Leicester City until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
