In-Demand Lille Striker Osimhen Makes Ligue 1 Team Of The Season Chosen By Bein Sports Pundit
Published: May 05, 2020
Victor Osimhen has earned a spot on the French Ligue 1 Team of the Season chosen by legendary former France midfielder Luis Fernández, who now works as a pundit for beIN SPORTS.
The Super Eagles striker was named among the substitutes in France Football and L'Equipe's Team of the Season.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Osimhen was partnered in attack by the league's joint-top scorer, Monaco's Wissam Ben Yedder, with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe playing in right and left midfield respectively.
Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga and Monaco's Aleksandr Golovin were selected as the holding midfielders; the defence contained Juan Bernat (PSG), Yunis Abdelhamid (Reims), Аlvaro González (Marseille) and Hamari Traore (Rennes); Matz Sels (Strasbourg) started in goal.
With 13 goals to his name in the cancelled season, Osimhen is currently the highest scoring Nigerian in Europe's top five leagues and is being courted by several big teams in England, Italy and Spain ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The 21-year-old found the net against nine different teams in Ligue 1 : Nantes, Saint-étienne, Angers, Strasbourg, Nîmes Olympique, Dijon, Stade Brest, Monaco, Marseille.
