Published: May 08, 2020
Super Falcons skipper Asisat Oshoala has broken her silence since winning her first league title in Europe following the declaration of Barcelona Femeni as the champions of the 2019/2020 Primera División Femenina season.
Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decided to call off the non-professional football season in Spain, a move which automatically handed table-topping Barcelona Femeni the title.
Thus, the former Arsenal and Liverpool Ladies striker is elated due to the outcome of her season, taking to Twitter to congratulate her teammates, the team's technical crew as well as her fans.
"21 games played, 19 won, 2 draws , 0 defeat , 86 goals for ,6 goals against. The 2015 BBC Women's Footballer of the Year initially joined the Spanish giants on loan from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian before penning a three-year contract keeping her at the Blaugranes until the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.
