Lille Sporting Director Credits Ex-Chelsea Star For Osimhen Flourishing In France
Published: May 14, 2020
Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos has praised former Chelsea striker Loïc Rémy for assisting Victor Osimhen thrive in his debut season in France.
The 33-year-old Frenchman partnered the young Nigerian in attack several times in the 2019-2020 campaign and they both accounted for 32 of the goals scored by Lille in all competitions.
Famous Portuguese talent spotter Campos stressed that experienced players are important for the development of young players.
"Victor Osimhen, like Rafael Leao last year, has grown enormously with Loïc Rémy," Campos said on Quarentena Da Bola via lepetitlillois.com.
"It is important to understand that if the player is to increase his potential, conditions must be created within the club so that these young talents can play well.
"This is fundamental and therefore it is necessary to create conditions to give a coach a backbone with experienced players who have a good level."
A move to England or Spain could be on the horizon for Osimhen as he continues to be linked with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
