2015 U17 World Cup-Winning Midfielder Will Not Extend Stay At Cremonese
Published: May 14, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that 2015 U17 World Cup-winning midfielder Kingsley Michael will not be extending his loan deal with Italian Serie B club Cremonese.
The former Flying Eagles star is due to return to his parent club Bologna at the beginning of July.
No thanks to a hamstring issue, Michael has been named in the Cremonese squad thirteen times for Serie B matches this season and went on to feature in six games.
Bologna have their own plans for the Nigeria youth international and tied him to a new long-term deal until June 2024 before shipping him out on loan to the second-tier club.
In the event that Michael is not guaranteed playing opportunities at Bologna before the start of the 2020-2021 campaign, he could remain with another Italian club or move abroad.
Unnamed clubs in Austria are believed to monitoring his progress with a view to a swoop.
The 20-year-old had a successful loan spell at Perugia during the 2018-2019 season, playing 25 games in the league and logging 1,679 minutes.
