'Man Utd Have Ferguson, Arsenal Wenger, Lokomotiv Semin' - Eagles Star Reacts To Departure Of Legendary Coach
Published: May 14, 2020
Nigeria international Bryan Idowu has taken to social media to react to the departure of legendary coach Yuri Semin from Lokomotiv Moscow.
The Railwaymen announced via a press release on Thursday that Semin's contract won't be renewed and named Marko Nikolic as the new head coach with effect from June 1, 2020.
The 73-year-old Semin had four different spells as coach of Lokomotiv Moscow and guided the capital outfit to win three Russian Premier League titles, six Russian Cups and three Russian Super Cups.
Idowu has likened Semin, who spent twenty three years at Lokomotiv, to two famous former Premier League coaches in Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger who had long careers at Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
Writing on Instagram, Idowu said : "Manchester United have Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsenal Arsene Wenger ... And Lokomotiv has Yuri Semin! Thanks for everything, coach!
"You will forever remain in the hearts of the fans and everyone in the football club! Young in heart and soul! Everyone would have your energy and passion! #Legend".
Idowu made 34 appearances in all competitions under Yuri Semin, including seven in the UEFA Champions League.
