'I'm Preparing For Match Vs Dinamo Minsk' - Nigeria U23 LB Reacts To Rumours He Tested Positive For Coronavirus
Published: May 15, 2020
Nigeria U23 international Godfrey Bitok Stephen has distanced himself from reports that he tested positive for coronavirus, saying he is training normally with his teammates ahead of their upcoming game against Dinamo Minsk.
It was claimed that the coronavirus test taken by the Nigerian on May 13 returned a positive result but in reality he is still awaiting the result of testing for COVID-19.
"The whole team took tests, but I haven’t been informed of the results personally yet," Stephen told pressball.by.
"While we are training in normal mode, we are preparing for the match with Dinamo Minsk. I am also doing fine, I feel fine".
Stephen has started all the matches contested by FK Isloch Minsk in the 2020 Belarusian Premier League, logging 714 minutes in total and provided an assist against Belshina last weekend.
The 19-year-old went the distance in the three games played by the Dream Team VII at the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
