Super Eagle Winger Simon Joins Nantes On A Permanent Deal
Published: May 26, 2020French Ligue 1 club Nantes are on the verge of confirming the permanent acquisition of Nigeria international Moses Simon.
According to French newspaper Ouest France, Nantes have exercised their option to buy the winger from Levante for five million euros, and the player has agreed a four-year deal that will see him remain at the club until June 30, 2024.
Levante have allowed Simon to depart the club less than two years after his arrival in order to balance their books due to UEFA Financial Fair Play rules.
Simon cost Levante five million euros when he arrived from KAA Gent, a sum that has now been recovered in full.
With the likes of Sevilla, Rennes plus an unnamed club in China interested in signing Simon, he would have cost more than five million euros assuming Nantes did not activate his purchase clause.
He had a successful maiden season in France, contributing to 17 goals (9 goals, 8 assists) in 30 matches across all competitions.
