Official : Super Eagles Midfielder Among Ten Players Released By Bradford City
Published: May 26, 2020
Nigeria international Hope Akpan has to look for a new club ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
EFL League Two team Bradford City have published their retained and released list via their official website, and Akpan is among ten players set to depart the Utilita Energy Stadium when their contracts expire next month.
The Super Eagles midfielder joined Bradford City from Burton Albion in July 2018 and is departing the club after making 54 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals.
He captained the Citizens in some matches during the 2018-2019 season, which is a testament to his leadership qualities.
Akpan has played over 200 games in the Football League and wore the jersey of Reading in the Premier League during the 2012-2013 season.
The Everton Academy product lists Hull City, Crawley Town, Blackburn Rovers and Burton Albion among his previous clubs.
Born in Liverpool, England but cap-tied to Nigeria, Akpan has not played for the Super Eagles since 2015.
