Olympiakos-Linked Striker Onyekuru Reveals His Preferred Destination
Published: May 28, 2020
Monaco-owned striker Henry Onyekuru has revealed his preferred destination amid speculation linking him with a permanent exit from the Ligue 1 side in the summer transfer window.
Turkish champions Galatasaray have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Onyekuru, with the Nigeria international stating that he would love to continue his career at the Istanbul giants beyond the end of this season.
The former Everton and Eupen man is reportedly on the radar of Olympiakos who want to loan him for next season with a purchase option inserted into the deal.
Now in his second spell at Galatasaray, he has tallied 17 goals, including 15 in the Super Lig, from 53 appearances in all competitions.
In quotes carried by Fanatik, Onyekuru said : "I want to stay in Galatasaray. Everton sold me to Monaco last year, but I hardly played there at all. I don't want to go through the same thing again".
Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim is on the same page as the Nigerian, saying : "I want Onyekuru to stay in the team, whatever the way".
Monaco paid Everton in the region of 13.5 million euros to acquire the Nigerian last summer.
