Galatasaray's Onyekuru, Sekidika Given Clean Bill Of Health Ahead Of Resumption Of Super Lig
Published: May 31, 2020
Nigerian wingers Henry Onyekuru and Jesse Sekidika have been given a clean bill of health to continue training with Galatasaray after they both tested negative for COVID-19 in tests conducted at Medical Park and Liv Hospital on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The coronavirus test results of 85 Galatasaray players and staff including coach Fatih Terim, assistant coaches, performance, health, administrative and support staff were negative, the Turkish champions said in a press release.
The Turkish Football Federation announced on Thursday that the Super Lig will resume on June 12 after it was forced to be suspended in March due to the global pandemic.
Super Eagles star Onyekuru was pictured training with his Galatasaray teammates in their last workout held at Florya Metin Oktay Facilities, Jupp Derwall Training Field on Saturday.
Today is a rest day for the Galatasaray players but they will resume training at the same venue on Monday ahead of their league game against Rizespor on June 14.
Since returning to the Lions for a second spell in January, Onyekuru has played nine matches while another winter signing Sekidika has been involved in six games, of which two were starts in the Turkish Cup.
