Official : Nigerian Striker Completes Move To English Sixth-tier Club St Albans City
Published: June 09, 2020
Nigerian striker Chid Onokwai has joined English sixth-tier side St Albans City, the Saints reported via their official website on Tuesday, June 9.
Onokwai has joined the National League South outfit from another non-league side Haringey Borough, for whom he scored ten goals in ten games before suffering an injury last November.
Described as one of the most feared strikers outside the National League, he returned to full fitness before the league was cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Shortly after the transfer was confirmed, Onokwai posted on Twitter : "I’d like to thank everyone in the @HaringeyBoroFCfamily, especially the fans for making it the most enjoyable year I’ve had in football.
"I now look forward to meeting the new faces and scoring more goals in @stalbanscityfc in due time."
Onokwai previously wore the jerseys of Eton Manor, FC Romania and Hayes & Yeading United.
