Published: June 12, 2020
Former Arsenal midfielder and Kelechi Nwakali is in the frame to make his competitive debut for Spanish Segunda Division club SD Huesca when they take on Malaga on Friday evening.
The 22-year-old is among the 24 players named to SD Huesca provisional squad for the matchday 32 fixture and allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that Nwakali traveled with the team to Malaga.
The Nigeria U23 international is one of ten midfielders selected by manager MÃchel in his provisional squad list.
Nwakali has yet to appear in an official game for the Azulgranas due to difficulties he encountered obtaining a work permit but this has been sorted out and he has been training with his teammates since last month.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner has not played a competitive game at club level since March 2019 during his time with Porto B, but was on duty for the Dream Team VII at the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in November.
Before the league was halted, Huesca were fourth in the standings with 50 points from 31 matches.
