Chelsea Wing-back Moses Finally Breaks His Silence After Inter's Loss To Sevilla UEL Final
Published: August 24, 2020
Victor Moses has broken his silence since Inter Milan lost the UEFA Europa League showpiece 3-2 to Sevilla last Friday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Chelsea-owned wing-back was a second half substitute for Antonio Conte's side at the RheinEnergieStadion last time out, replacing Danilo D'Ambrosio as the Nerazzurri failed to rescue the game.
A Luuk De Jong double set the pace for Sevilla after Romelu Lukaku's opener in Köln, with the Belgian inadvertently diverting what proved the winner into his own net after Diego Godin had momentarily restored honours.
Moses could have become the first Nigerian player to win the Europa League in its various guises with two different clubs but for the defeat, his third in the colours of the Serie A club in all competitions last season.
Thus, the 29-year-old took to his Twitter handle to express his sadness at the turnout of the result, while thanking the fans for their support.
"Devastated to lose the final on Friday. We gave everything but it just wasn't to be. Thank you so much to all of the fans for your amazing support for the team during the season 🙏🏿", he wrote.
Moses is expected to return to Stamford Bridge and await developments regarding his future ahead of the upcoming season.
