Odion Ighalo was in action as Manchester United earned a 3-0 win over Brighton in the fourth round of their Carabao Cup meeting on Wednesday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Shanghai Shenhua loanee was on for 69 minutes of the victory before making way for Marcus Rashford at the American Express Community Stadium in East Sussex.
He came close to breaking his goal duck for the season in the first half when received a pass from Juan Mata, skipped past a Brighton defender but could only find the side netting with his effort.
Ighalo has made three appearances for the club this season, including two starts in this competition this season but is yet to add to his goal tally for the club he joined last year.
Scott McTominay, Mata and substitute Paul Pogba scored the goals for the Red Devils to put them through to the next round of the competition.
Manchester United will discover their quarterfinal opponents on Thursday, October 1, following Liverpool's game vs Arsenal.
