Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool Among Clubs Battling To Sign Left-Footed Nigerian Midfielder
Published: November 02, 2020
Several English Premier League, German, French and Italian clubs have placed Reading's Nigeria-eligible young star Michael Olise on their radar few months before the reopening of the transfer window, according to reports.
Team Talk says Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester City have been keeping tabs on the left-footed midfielder in recent weeks but face competition from home and abroad.
Arsenal, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Monaco and Napoli are also contemplating signing Olise who is widely regarded as one of the top young prospects outside the English Premier League.
The 18-year-old has been a key player for table-topping Reading in the new campaign with his contribution of two goals and three assists in his first nine matches.
He turned out for the youth teams of Chelsea and Manchester City before signing scholarship forms with the Royals in 2016.
Olise played non-binding games for France during last year's Toulon Tournament and is also eligible to wear the colours of England.
He has a contract with Reading until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
