Leon Balogun To Miss Rangers' League Game Vs Motherwell Due To Concussion Protocols
Leon Balogun will not be available for selection for Glasgow Rangers' Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Super Eagles center back had to be substituted in the closing minutes of the Light Blues 3-2 loss to St. Mirren in the quarterfinals of the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday after a bruising clash with Jonathan Obika.

The medical staff treated Balogun on the pitch for several minutes before he was replaced by Ianis Hagi in the 84th minute.

With concussion protocols yet to completed, the game against Motherwell has come too soon for the former Brighton & Hove man.

Providing an injury update on his squad at Friday's press conference, manager Steven Gerrard said : "Leon came off the pitch with a head issue and there are protocols now which we need to follow.

"I have spoken to the Doctor on that, and we will follow medical guidance and protocols, so he will be unavailable for tomorrow's game.

"We are hoping to have him available for the next one after the weekend."

Since joining Rangers in the close season, Balogun has been involved in 14 matches across all competitions, helping Rangers keep eleven clean sheets.
