Super Eagles Star Akpoguma Scores First Goal For Hoffenheim Seven Years After Joining Club
Super Eagles central defender Kevin Akpoguma netted his first goal for Hoffenheim against Greuther Fürth in a DFB Cup clash staged at  PreZero Arena (Sinsheim) on Tuesday evening.

Heading into this fixture, the former Germany U20 skipper had been involved in 69 first team games without opening his account for Hoffenheim.

Akpoguma had spent 5,134 minutes on the pitch in total prior to his maiden goal for Die Kraichgauer.

He netted three goals for Hoffenheim's reserve team before earning promotion to the first team, and his only goal involvement for the first team prior to this evening's match was bagging an assist in a Bundesliga match vs RB Leipzig in December 2017.

In the 49th minute and with Hoffenheim trailing 2-1, the Nigeria national teamer restored parity when he headed home a free-kick, eventually sending the game to extra time.

Akpoguma was successful from the penalty spot despite slipping as Hoffenheim lost the shootout 7-6.

He  joined Hoffenheim in 2013 after stops at Karlsruher SC, FC Neureut 08, FC Bavaria Wörth, Schwarz-Weiß Speyer and Rot-Weiß Speyer.
