Los Angeles' Nigeria-Eligible GK Unused Substitute In Champions League Final Vs Tigres UANL
Minneapolis-born goalkeeper of Nigerian descent Philip Ejimadu has seen his dream of featuring in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup go up in smoke after Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC were beaten 2-1 by Tigres UANL in the CONCACAF Champions League final.

The 21-year-old was an unused substitute in Tuesday's showpiece staged at the Exploria Stadium behind closed doors.

The American club went ahead through Diego Rossi in the 61st minute but Ayala tied it in the 72nd minute before former France international André-Pierre Gignac scored the game-winning goal six minutes from time.

Ejimadu's other squad involvement in the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League was against Club Leon FC in the  last sixteen first leg.

He was behind Pablo Sisniega and Kenneth Vermeer in the pecking order of goalkeepers in the MLS regular season, making three matchday squads without tasting action, and was a non-playing substitute against LA Galaxy in the MLS Is Back Tournament.

Ejimadu is eligible to represent the senior national teams of Nigeria, United States and Brazil, and has been called up to a USA U20 training camp in 2018.
