Balogun, Alebiosu, Azeez Promoted To Arsenal First Team Training Before Trip To Brighton & Hove
Published: December 28, 2020
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted three Nigeria-eligible teenagers to first team training ahead of their trip to Brighton & Hove.
Training pictures published by the official website of the Gunners confirm that Folarin Balogun, Ryan Alebiosu and Miguel Azeez were part of the final workout held at London Colney on Monday afternoon.
A striker by trade, Balogun needs no introduction as he has been in the news recently on the back of his fine performances in the Europa League and his contract situation at his boyhood club.
Central midfielder Azeez also debuted for the Emirates Stadium outfit in the Europa League, coming off the bench to play the last seven minutes against Dundalk, having previously made the bench against Molde and Rapid Vienna.
Right back Alebiosu is a key player for Arsenal U23s but has yet to make his competitive debut for the first team.
The three youngsters have been excluded from Arsenal's 22-man Premier League squad but are eligible to be fielded in the competition as they are all classed as U21 players and scholars.
Balogun joined Arsenal at the age of eight, Alebiosu has been at the club since the age of seven and Azeez first trained with the club when he was five years old.
