West Brom Center Back Ajayi Suffers Joint Heaviest League Defeat Of His Professional Career

Semi Ajayi suffered thr joint-heaviest league defeat of his professional career as West Brom were thrashed 5-0 by Leeds United at the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
With the Nigeria international in the center of defence - his fifteenth Premier League start - Leeds United scored four first half goals through Romaine Sawyers (own goal), Ezgjan Alioski, Jack Harrison and Rodrigo, before Raphinha wrapped up the scoring 18 minutes from time.
In terms of margin of the scoreline, this is the third time in his professional career that he has lost by five goals in the league alone, starting with the 5-0 loss to Coventry City in February 2016 while defending the colours of Crewe Alexandra followed by a 6-1 defeat to Derby County in March 2019 during his stint at Rotherham United.
Ajayi's heaviest loss as a professional came in a 7-0 defeat to Manchester City in an Emirates FA Cup clash on January 6, 2019.
West Brom remain 19th in the table with eight points from 16 games before their meeting with Arsenal on Saturday, January 2.
