'He Turned Into Maradona' - Crystal Palace's Eze Paid Huge Compliment By Former Man City Star
Published: January 03, 2021
Crystal Palace began the New Year with a 2-0 win against Sheffield United at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
England U21 international of Nigerian descent Eberechi Eze scored the pick of the goals, dribbling from his own half before slotting into the corner past goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Six minutes into first half injury time, the substitute saw a bit of space ahead of him, turned nicely, and drifted past defenders before finishing with aplomb.
Eze was likened to Argentina and Napoli legend Diego Maradona by ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards following his brilliant strike, undoubtedly a Goal of the Month contender.
"Crystal Palace have been good. Sheffield United, to be fair to them, have been OK as well in terms of effort but they're missing something up top," Richards said on BBC Final Score.
"But Eberechi Eze's goal, he turned into Maradona for a second!"

Eze has been involved in 15 matches in the top-flight so far this season and was in action for 962 minutes.
