'Fantastic player' - Ex-Liverpool star Heskey eats his words on Leicester striker Iheanacho
Published: April 22, 2021
Just like last season, Leicester City find themselves in the mix for the top four and continue their hunt for a Champions League spot with an important game against West Brom on Thursday.
West Brom are looking to make it three wins on the spin, after getting maximum points against Chelsea and Southampton, giving them huge hope of escaping relegation.
Kelechi Iheanacho has been clinical for The Foxes since the start of March, netting seven goals in his last five Premier League matches, as many as he had in his previous 63 appearances in the division.
The Nigeria international starts in attack alongside Jamie Vardy against the Baggies - his sixth consecutive start in the Premier League.
Former Liverpool and Leicester City striker Emile Heskey has admitted that Iheanacho has silenced his critics with his performances in recent weeks after failing to make a mark in his first two seasons at the King Power Stadium.
Speaking on Premier League Productions just before the game kicked off, Vardy said on Iheanacho : "I think it's not just me, he has proved a lot of people wrong.
"We all knew what he was capable of doing because you don't come from Manchester City and play for a team like that without making runs like this, scoring goals like this.
"Fantastic player, he's getting the confidence now and able to make runs here. You know when you get in some positions like this, inevitably he would score.

"He's got this left foot and he's got Jamie Vardy up-front with him now who is actually assisting him as well which is making him happy."
Iheanacho has outscored his strike partner Vardy this season, with the Super Eagles star netting 15 in all competitions and the former England man scoring 14 goals.
