Tottenham Hotspur pursuing the transfer of Northampton Town striker Chukwuemeka
Published: April 25, 2021English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer move for Anglo-Nigerian striker Caleb Chukwuemeka, according to reports.
Caleb is the older brother of Aston Villa wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka, an England youth international who used to play for Northampton Town before his move to the Premier League club in 2016.
Football Insider says Tottenham have set the wheels in motion to sign Northampton Town's highly-rated teenager Caleb Chukwuemeka.
Aged 19, the attacker has been scouted several times by former Spurs coach David Pleat, most recently in Tuesday's 3-0 win against Ipswich Town, where he started and was in action for 55 minutes.
Chukwuemeka is on a scholarship deal at the Cobblers until the summer of 2022, meaning he should be available for a small fee because he has yet to sign his first professional contract with the club.
He has broken into Northampton's first team in the current season, making 25 appearances in all competitions with two goals to his name.
Predominantly a center forward, Chukwuemeka is also comfortable playing as a winger.
