Published: April 26, 2021
Chelsea have confirmed their traveling squad for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semifinal clash against Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has taken twenty-four players to Spain, with talented Anglo-Nigerian winger Faustino Anjorin making the squad list.
The England youth international was monitored at close quarters by Tuchel this morning before the squad flew out to Spain on Monday afternoon.
With 24 players named on the roster including three goalkeepers namely Kepa Arrizabalaga,Willy Caballero and Edouard Mendy, the German football tactician has to axe at least one outfield player from the matchday squad.
Anjorin has not played for any of the Chelsea's teams since April 12, 2021 when he went the full ninety in a Premier League 2 clash against Southampton.
Meanwhile, Spanish-Nigerian winger Marvin Akinlabi has been omitted from Real Madrid's 22-man squad.
The 20-year-old, UEFA Youth League winner with Real Madrid last season, was an unused substitute against Liverpool at Anfield - his first squad involvement in the Champions League.
