Leicester City strengthened their grip on third spot and a Champions League place by coming from behind to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Monday night, with three Nigeria-eligible players on parade at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, and Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze put in a full shift for their respective teams and gave a good account of themselves.
The Foxes secured the three points the hard way, with red-hot striker Kelechi Iheanacho's stunner in the 80th minute proving to be the winning goal.
The Eagles took the lead when Eze found Wilfried Zaha in space and the Ivory Coast winger beat goalkeeper Schmeichel in the 12th minute.
Iheanacho set up the equaliser for Castagne three minutes after the restart, the Nigeria national teamer took a touch, and laid the ball for Castagne to riffle it home from close range.
His match-winning moment came when he took a touch in the area, swiveled inside, and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.
Speaking on his goal, Iheanacho said to Sky Sports : "I was in the box and it was on my left foot, I wasn’t thinking about anything else – shift and shoot.
"When you have confidence in your game it makes you perform really well and it keeps coming and you keep scoring."
Iheanacho is on a hot streak at the moment and has become the new darling of the Leicester City fans, scoring fourteen goals in his last fourteen appearances in all competitions.
The win against Palace took Brendan Rodgers' team seven points clear of West Ham in fifth and only five points behind Manchester United who are second.
