Iheanacho's stunner against The Eagles nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month
Published: May 07, 2021
Kelechi Iheanacho's strike against Crystal Palace is in the running for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for April 2021, informs the official website of the Premier League.
The in-form Leicester City striker bagged the winning goal against The Eagles at the King Power Stadium on matchday 33.
His match-winning moment came when he took a touch in the area, swiveled inside, and smashed the ball into the roof of the net in the 80th minute.
It was the last of the four goals scored by the Leicester City number 14 in April, after previously getting on the scoresheet in games against West Ham and West Brom.
For a while in his career at Leicester City, Iheanacho struggled to break into the starting lineup but has now become one of the first names on Brendan Rodgers teamsheet thanks to his goalscoring form in recent weeks.
The other players in the running for the Premier League Goal of the Month are Callum Robinson (West Brom), Jesse Lingard (West Ham), Pablo Fornals (West Ham), Leander Dendoncker (Wolves), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) and Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal).
Iheanacho was nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month for March 2021 but missed out on the accolade to
Tottenham Hotspur's Erik Lamela.
