Free-scoring West Ham striker open to representing Nigeria; also eligible for Ireland, England
Published: May 11, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that prolific West Ham attacker Ademipo Odubeko is weighing up whether to switch international allegiances.
Born in Tallaght, Dublin, the former Manchester United schoolboy qualifies to represent the national teams of Republic of Ireland and Nigeria.
England are also in the picture as he has lived more than five years in the country; he moved to England with his parents on the invitation of Manchester City in 2015.
There is huge speculation over the international future of Odubeko after he pulled out of the Ireland U21 squad in March, saying that he recently recovered from injury and had a busy schedule.
Still only 18 and also eligible for the U19s and U20s, the Football Association of Ireland were planning to fast-track him into the U21 squad prior to his withdrawal.
As you would expect, Mipo's family wants him to represent the Nigeria national teams and the talented center forward is open to picking the Super Eagles over the Three Lions and The Boys in Green.
Odubeko has played two non-binding games for Republic of Ireland U17s, international friendlies against Finland.
He has been embedded with West Ham's first team for most part of this season, making their matchday squads on seventeen occasions.
Odubeko's goalscoring stats for the Hammers youth teams are incredible, 24 goals in 20 matches across all competitions since joining the club in October 2019.
