Super Eagles target voted second most important player Reading must keep amid Chelsea, Arsenal links
Published: June 23, 2021
In a survey carried out by Berkshire Live, Michael Olise has been voted as the second most important player Reading must keep for the forthcoming season.
The former France U18 international is on the radar of the Super Eagles coaching staff led by Gernot Rohr and was named on the reserve roster for the national team's last two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with the Republic of Benin and Lesotho.
It's not only Olise's international future that has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months as he is also being linked with a departure from the Madejski Stadium.
The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Leeds United have been credited with an interest in the Franco-Nigerian playmaker after a banner season that saw him directly participate in nineteen goals (7 goals, 12 assists) from 44 appearances in the EFL Championship.
Reading Player of the Season Josh Laurent has been chosen by supporters as the number one player the Royals must keep at all costs for the 2021-2022 season, with EFL Young Player of the Year Olise in second place.
46 percent of the fans who participated in the survey picked Lauren while eighteen percent went for Olise.
The Super Eagles target will enter the final twelve months of his contract with Reading next month and reportedly has an £8m release clause in his contract.
