Real Madrid keen to insert buy-back clause in proposed deal taking Nigerian winger to Torino
Published: June 28, 2021
Italian Serie A club Torino are thrashing out a deal with Real Madrid for the signature of Spanish-Nigerian-Korean winger Marvin Akinlabi.
According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio writing for Tuttomercatoweb, Torino Technical Director Davide Vagnati has started talks with Real Madrid for Akinlabi.
With little progress being made in transfer talks to sign Crotone star Junior Messias, Torino have identified the former Tranmere Rovers youth-teamer as an alternative.
Los Blancos are willing to let Akinlabi move on loan to Torino in order to continue his development but would like to include a buy-back clause or counter-redemption into any deal.
Torino are working on a season-long loan deal with a purchase clause inserted into the agreement.
Predominantly a player of Real Madrid Castilla, Akinlabi appeared in four matches in the Spanish top-flight last season and was a non-playing substitute against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League.
A UEFA Youth League winner with Real Madrid in 2020, he has played a non-binding game for Spain at U19 level.
