Three Red Bull Salzburg Nigeria-eligible strikers send messages to Daka after Leicester transfer
Published: June 30, 2021
English Premier League side Leicester City on Wednesday finally confirmed the capture of prolific Zambia international Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg.
The 22-year-old will join the Foxes on a five-year deal from July 1, 2021, subject to Premier League and international clearance.
Daka has been acquired by the Foxes ahead of next season to provide competition for ageing striker Jamie Vardy and Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Zambian arrives at Leicester City with a big reputation, with the prolific striker involved in an astonishing 34 goals (27 goals, 7 assists) in 28 league appearances in 2020-2021 - a feat that saw him win the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Season plus the Golden Boot prize.
Three Nigeria-eligible players currently on the books of Daka's past club Red Bull Salzburg in the shape of versatile winger Noah Okafor, strikers Karim Adeyemi and Adamu Chukwubuike have taken to social media to wish him well after his move.
Writing on Instagram, Daka said : "Proud To Be A Fox 🔵🦊💪🏾#lcfc".
Replying to Daka's post, the 21-year-old one-cap Switzerland international Okafor said : "👑♥️".
Kano-born Austria U21 sensation Adamu also posted : "Lets goo🔥".
Germany U21 international Adeyemi added : "🔝❤️❤️❤️❤️".
