Danny Drinkwater, Marcos Alonso send message to Victor Moses after Chelsea exit
Published: July 03, 2021
Chelsea stars Danny Drinkwater and Marcos Alonso have sent farewell messages to Victor Moses after the Blues confirmed on Friday that they have ended their nine-year association with the wing-back.
Moses's permanent transfer to Spartak Moscow was one of the worst kept secrets of the summer transfer window as he showed up for the start of pre-season preparations at the Red and Whites.
Signed from Wigan Athletic in August 2012, it took a long time for him to be given a proper chance at Chelsea and it came in the 2016-2017 season under Antonio Conte, making 29 starts as The Blues won the Premier League title.
Before then, Moses was farmed out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has taken to social media to send a heartfelt message to Chelsea fans, players and staff after completing his permanent transfer to Spartak Moscow.
Writing on Instagram and Facebook , Moses stated : "After 9 fantastic years and 128 games for Chelsea Football Club I have now officially left the club to join Spartak Moscow on a permanent transfer.
"I’ve loved every moment playing for Chelsea and leave with memories that I will cherish forever, including winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.
"I’ve always appreciated the love and support shown to me during my time at Stamford Bridge and would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody connected with the club, with a special mention to the incredible Chelsea fans who have always been brilliant with me.
"I would like to wish the club every success in the future. Thank you for everything. I’ll always have blue in my heart".
Replying to Moses's post, Marcos Alonso said on Instagram : "My bro! All the best 👊💪".
Drinkwater added : "Congrats big guy. All the best ❤️".
Moses's last game as a Chelsea player was against BATE Borisov in a Europa League group stage game on October 25, 2018.
