Nigeria-eligible striker proves his worth on his unofficial debut for Arsenal youth team
Published: July 03, 2021
Nigeria-eligible striker Henry Timi Davies made his unofficial debut for Arsenal U18s as they hammered Chelmsford City 4-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners are set to confirm in the coming days that Davies has signed a scholarship with the club.
The former Manchester City schoolboy was one of two players of Nigerian descent brought on after the interval, the other being central defender Zach Awe.
According to Arsenal youth team guru Jeorge Bird, who monitored proceedings at EMG Inspire Stadium, Davies looks like a very interesting prospect.
The tall, fast and skillful forward showed his ability to play multiple roles in attack during the friendly.
A brace from Jimi Gower, additional tallies from Khayon Edwards and Kaleel Green helped the Gunners register an emphatic win over Chelmsford City.
Arsenal U18s have lined up friendlies against Tavistock AFC and Hendon this month as they prepare for the start of the 2021-2022 season.
