Sheffield Wednesday identify Arsenal's Nigerian defender as a player of interest
Published: July 06, 2021
Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly identified Camden-born Nigerian defender Tolaji Bola as a player of interest this summer.
The Star UK says the Owls manager Darren Moore is in the market for a left-back and the club is considering a move for Arsenal youngster Bola.
Apart from former Chelsea defender Renedi Masampu who is trialing at Sheffield Wednesday, the League One team also have Bola on their radar and it remains to be seen if they firm up their interest in the former England youth international.
Yet to make his senior bow for Arsenal, the 22-year-old has been invited to train with the first team several times and was named in the provisional squad list for the trip to Bournemouth and the home game versus Sheffield United back in the 2019-2020 season.
Bola's only squad involvement for Arsenal's first team was against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup in November 2019.
He earned a taste of first team football whilst on loan at League One club Rochdale in the first half of last season, making 12 appearances in all competitions.
Sheffield Wednesday have also been linked with a move for another 22-year-old Anglo-Nigerian player in Dennis Adeniran, who was released by Everton last month.
