Published: July 07, 2021
Through their official Facebook page, English Premier League club Southampton have announced that seven members of their academy have signed their first professional contracts.
Among the exciting players offered new deals is Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo, the cousin of Liverpool winger on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation, Sheyi Ojo.
Otseh-Taiwo's new contract will see him progress further through the academy and join Dave Horseman's B-team side.
A right-back by trade, he represented Southampton in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and FA Youth Cup last season.
Upon signing the new contract, Otseh-Taiwo said : "I am really happy to finally sign my first professional contract.
"Obviously it's a big thing and it's what every young player is always looking forward to in their career, especially like Chauke, the same age we have been at the club for a while together, so seeing him push on has really inspired me and I want to just follow the same footsteps."
