Arsenal legend Vieira wants reunion with ex-Man Utd winger of Nigerian descent at Crystal Palace
Published: July 10, 2021
Irish-born Nigerian young star Deji Sotona is being linked with a return to an English Premier League club, less than a year after ending his association with Manchester United.
According to the authoritative Rising Ballers via Instagram, Crystal Palace are set to sign 18-year-old former Manchester United winger Sotona from OGC Nice.
With the deal all but done, it will be a reunion between new Palace manager Patrick Vieira and Sotona as the Arsenal legend coached the teenager at past club OGC Nice.
The Irish-Nigerian has been described as a player with a huge potential, powerful and skillful, and wide attacker who can also play through the middle.
Although Sotona was signed for OGC Nice's first-team last September, the season ended without him making his professional debut for the Eaglets.
Over his time at Manchester United, he scored four goals in 16 appearances in the U18 Premier League, netted once in four matches in the FA Youth Cup and featured in the EFL Trophy.
Crystal Palace completed the signing of teenage Franco-Nigerian winger Michael Olise this week.
