Highly-rated Nigerian striker scores first goal for Arsenal Youth in pre-season friendly
Published: July 11, 2021
Promising Nigerian striker Henry Timi Davies continues to earn rave reviews following a brilliant start to his career with the youth team of Premier League side Arsenal.
The Gunners are set to confirm in the coming days that former Manchester City schoolboy Davies has signed a scholarship with the club.
The very talented teenager put on an outstanding performance on his unofficial debut for Arsenal U18s as they hammered Chelmsford City 4-0 in a pre-season friendly last weekend.
On Saturday, in a friendly between Arsenal U18s and Plymouth Argyle played behind closed doors at Langsford Park, Davies netted his first goal in Gunners colours.
In the 56th minute, the former Citizens starlet gave Arsenal the lead when his deflected shot beat Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Lewis Moyle, according to the official website of the Pilgrims.
Arsenal U18s failed to win for the first time in pre-season as Finley Craske bagged an equaliser ten minutes from time.
The Emirates Stadium outfit fended off interest from London rivals Chelsea to sign Davies.
