Super Eagles hopeful features for Chelsea in 6-1 rout of Peterborough United
Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo played his first game under manager Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea thrashed EFL Championship newcomers Peterborough United 6-1 in their first pre-season friendly staged at Cobham training complex on Saturday, July 17.

The former England youth international was on loan at Cercle Brugge when Tuchel replaced club legend Frank Lampard as coach of the Blues.

With several Chelsea stars yet to report for pre-season training due to international commitments at the 2020 European Championship this summer, Ugbo has been asked to train with the first team by the German football tactician.

Having taken in loan spells at Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons, Scunthorpe United, Roda JC and Cercle Brugge, a permanent departure from Stamford Bridge is on the cards before the transfer window closes, with Racing Genk and PSV Eindhoven the frontrunners for his signature.

Tuchel made a raft of changes at the break and one of those saw Ugbo entering the game as a substitute.

Anglo-Nigerian winger Faustino Anjorin was not one of the 22 players that tasted action though he has been spotted on several occasions training with the first team in pre-season.

Abraham, Pulisic, Broja and Hakim Ziyech (3) were on the scoresheet for the European champions, while Siriki Dembele netted for the visitors.
