Norwich City in negotiations with Bournemouth to land Super Eagles target
Published: August 02, 2021
According to Football Insider, English Premier League new boys Norwich City have opened talks with Bournemouth to sign Super Eagles target Philip Billing in the summer transfer window.
The Canaries are in the market for a central midfielder with Premier League experience and the Danish-Nigerian tops their wish list.
If terms are agreed, Billing would be joining the Canaries two years into his five-year contract at Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old, a one-cap Denmark international, has totaled 77 appearances in the Premier League - 43 for Huddersfield Town and 34 for the Cherries.
Billing is gaining a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder, ending the 2020-2021 campaign with eight goals in 34 matches in the Championship and scored in his first competitive game of the new season against MK Dons this past weekend.
Meanwhile, Norwich City confirmed their first team squad numbers today, with Irish-born Nigerian defender Andrew Omobamidele assigned the number 44.
The 19-year-old started the last eight matches played by Norwich City in the Championship in 2020-2021.
