Man City to make transfer decision on Nigerian amid RB Leipzig, Dortmund, Valencia interest
Published: August 21, 2021
Nigeria-eligible teenager Samuel Edozie is being linked with a transfer away from Manchester City ten days before the transfer window closes for business in major European Leagues.
Transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that the England U18 international has received many approaches in the last few weeks.
German Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, as well as La Liga side Valencia are interested in signing the Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid.
Manchester City are considering whether to part company with Edozie, who is open to staying or leaving the club.
The 18-year-old caught the eye of manager Pep Guardiola during the pre-season, scoring in all of their preparatory games against Preston North End, Barnsley and Blackpool.
Edozie was rewarded with a professional debut for Manchester City in their 1-0 loss to Leicester City in the Community Shield two weeks ago, logging 65 minutes before making way for Britain's most expensive player Jack Grealish.
When the current Premier League champions signed Edozie in the summer of 2019, they saw off competition from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton.
