Nine games and counting : Why a loan move would be perfect for Nigerian defender and Celtic
For the ninth consecutive game in all competitions, 2019 Dream Team VII invitee Osaze Urhoghide was not handed minutes by manager Ange Postecoglou as Glasgow Celtic won their sixth game on the spin by thrashing St. Mirren 6-0 at Celtic Park on Saturday, August 21.

The former Sheffield Wednesday starlet was snubbed in two matches in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, three in the Europa League, three in the Scottish Premiership and one in the League Cup.

It would be difficult for Urhoghide to crack the starting line-up if Celtic keep winning their matches without conceding, with four clean sheets kept in their last five games.

Though the Dutch-Nigerian has not openly expressed his discontent at his lack of game time, he has little future as a first team player at Celtic at the moment.

With Urhoghide's chances of breaking in the first team slim, sending him out on loan before the summer transfer window closes would be beneficial to all concerned.

The 21-year-old would get regular minutes at his loan club and would be assessed by Celtic coaching staff to determine if he's ripe for the first team ahead of the start of the 2022-2023 season.

There's a possibility that Urhoghide is being overlooked by Australian football tactician Postecoglou because of his lack of experience, having made only seventeen starts as a professional before switching to Celtic, coupled with the fact that he's not accustomed to the Premiership.
