Man City's Nigeria-eligible winger labels Guardiola the 'best manager in the world'
Published: September 20, 2021
Nigeria-eligible winger Samuel Edozie has labelled manager Pep Guardiola the 'best manager in the world' ahead of Manchester City's Carabao Cup clash against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.
The England youth international was promoted to first-team training in pre-season and caught
the eye of Guardiola after finding the net in all of their preparatory
games against Preston North End, Barnsley and Blackpool.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Edozie said : "It's nice to hear that from the best manager in the world. Working under him week-in, week-out is big for me at 18.
"I can learn a lot and also training with the best players in the world has allowed me to improve my game. I like to take what I've learned from the first team into the EDS and try as play as well as I can.
"I feel like from my first session to where I am now I've progressed massively and that is a big positive for me.
"The intensity of how I do everything, not taking so long to do certain things and being more clinical - things like that and runs in behind, different movements to be unpredictable. Those are the main things I've taken.

"I like to think there's always more to come with me."
The Manchester City squad is currently ravaged by
injuries with Rodrigo, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, Oleksandr Zinchenko
and Ilkay Gundogan rated as doubtful to face Wycombe Wanderers, while
Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo are among the players that could be rested.
