Former Premier League referee gives verdict on Ndidi, Lookman disallowed goals vs Brighton
Published: September 21, 2021
Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has insisted that referee Stuart Attwell was right to disallow the goals scored by Leicester City's Nigerian duo Ademola Lookman and Wilfred Ndidi during the second half of their 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove on Sunday afternoon.
Lookman bundled home a corner to seemingly get the Foxes back on level
terms in the 66th minute but the goal was disallowed as Harvey Barnes
was deemed to be offside following a VAR review.

There was more drama to come as Wilfred Ndidi headed in at the near
post from a corner in the 85th minute but the goal was chalked off as
Barnes, who was offside again, was interfering with play according to
VAR.
Speaking on Sky Sports' Ref Watch, Gallagher said : "I don't think there's much doubt about the first. He's directly in line with the goalkeeper.
"The goalkeeper doesn't see the ball until it is past him. The second, he moves towards the ball, so he's impacting on the goalkeeper."
Ndidi has not scored in the English top-flight since January 19, 2021 when he found the net in Leicester City's 2-0 win over Chelsea.
