Allnigeriasoccer.com's round up of the Carabao Cup matches involving players of Nigerian descent on Tuesday, October 26.
Arsenal faced Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in London with a place in the quarterfinals of the competition at stake and they got the job done, with a 2-0 victory to stretch their unbeaten run to eight in all competitions.
Folarin Balogun was in the Gunners matchday squad but remained an unused substitute while goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo missed out entirely.
In an extraordinary moment, Calum Chambers, with his first touch after coming off the bench, powered home a header to beak the deadlock nine minutes after the restart before Eddie Nketiah rounded the Leeds goalkeeper and eventually forced the ball home to double the advantage.
Elsewhere, former Arsenal schoolboy Nathan Tella started and was in action for 66 minutes as Southampton were beaten on penalties by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Kai Havertz converted from a corner to give Chelsea the lead just before half-time and Ché Adams leveled proceedings for Saints in the 47th minute to take the game to penalties.
Chelsea won the resulting penalty shootout 4-3, with Reece James stepping up to score the winning penalty.
Still in London, at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, Luke Amos and Moses Odubajo started for Queens Park Rangers against Sunderland.
Queens Park Rangers have bowed out after they were eliminated on spot kicks after a goalless ninety minutes.
Odubajo put in a 90 minute shift for the Hoops and Amos departed the pitch with six minutes left on the clock.
