Leicester City have progressed to the last eight after seeing off the challenge of Brighton & Hove thanks to a penalty shootout win at the King Power Stadium.
Making his fourth start in all competitions, Ademola Lookman, with his second goal in this season's Carabao Cup, restored Leicester City's lead just before half-time after Harvey Barnes had given the Foxes a dream start at minute six.
Brighton's joy was short-lived as Adam Webster's equaliser had them level for less than one minute but they were back on level terms again midway through the second half after Enock Mwepu headed home for 2-2.
The final throw of the dice by Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers saw Lookman withdrawn for the arrival of Kelechi Iheanacho in the 73rd minute.
It finished 4-2 in the shootout with City converting all their four kicks while Brighton duo Mwepu and Maupay missed theirs.
At the Bet365 Stadium, Frank Onyeka helped Brentford progress to the next round, coming off the bench for the final eighteen minutes of a 2-1 win.
The Bees were cruising at half-time as Sergi Canos and Ivan Toney got their names on the scoresheet, before
Romaine Sawyers halved the deficit on 57 minutes.
