Iheanacho targets equaling or breaking one Leicester record held by Vardy, 3 others vs Spartak
Published: November 04, 2021
Leicester will be aiming to make it two wins on the bounce when they tackle Victor Moses' Spartak Moscow at the King Power Stadium on Thursday.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who is in contention to face the Russian Premier League side, will be targeting equaling or breaking a Leicester City record tonight.
There is a four-way tie for the Foxes all-time top scorer in European competitions between Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Patson Daka and Harvey Barnes who all have four goals to their names.
With three goals from nine appearances for Leicester City, Iheanacho is one short of matching the club record for goals in European competitions.
The Nigeria international opened his account in Europe against Zorya Lugansk on the opening round of last season's Europa League before bagging a brace vs Sporting Braga.
Iheanacho has been influential for the Foxes in the Europa League this season, providing three assists for his teammates including two for Daka in the come-from-behind win against Spartak on matchday three.
